Having a title keep you pretty busy! What is a typical day like for you? My day to day schedules changes as I am a full time bilingual spokes-person and model, thus work is various modeling jobs on any given day. Although some days are long and I can work anywhere from 8-15 hours a day. A typical day would start with an early convention as a spokes model, follow by working special events throughout the day. I always take the time to attend some of my local charity events to support my community or any events I get the opportunity to support.

What has been the highlight of being Miss Nebraska so far? The fact that I am even Miss Nebraska and representing a beauty state at Nationals is a Highlight within itself, but I would have to say that having a state title has allowed for other become inspired and realize that consistency and hard work pays off in the end. I truly believe that if you can be an impact in life of one person for the better, the work and effort is worth it all.

What are some of your best beauty secrets to looking flawless all the time?

It’s not a secret but being able to get sleep when my schedule is not filled is definitely an additive to my beauty secret.

Growing up, who was your inspiration? I was raised by my mother and thus she has become my inspiration and taught me that working hard pays off.

Lady Code has a focus on anti-bullying and women empowerment. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be victims of bullying?

I believe bullying is a two part process. One being the bully and the other person being the victim of its attacks. I do not condone, nor feel that anyone should be treated different or attacked because they “just don’t fit” in what the bully feels is their domain. Bullying does not stop in high school, it continues into adulthood and thus the reason why we see racism, prejudice among religions, political views, sexual preference, and the list goes on. Yet, we should be more confident of ourselves and and not be afraid to ask for help. I believe we need to spread the word to our youth about respecting each other and getting along with one another. Everyone is different and that’s what makes this world amazing that we can learn from each other, doesn’t mater where your from or how anyone looks. No one should be mistreated.

Tell us about your platform: My platform is domestic violence, I advocate and share my personal story as I experienced my mother be in domestic violence marriage as a child from age 3-18. All I can say is that no one should be mistreated mentally or physically in any relationship. Being that my platform is very close to me, one of the non profit organization closely work with is the shade tree. The Shade Tree is a Las Vegas based shelter for women, children and pets that are victims of domestic abuse. The mission of The Shade Tree is to provide safe shelter to homeless, abused women and children in crisis and to offer life-changing services promoting stability, dignity and self-reliance. The shade tree offers 12 other programs for its the community. I work with the safe home to organize different clothing drives, kids events, Mother’s Day events, and different walks that raise money for the organization.

What can Lady Code readers do in their communities to get involved? They can google there cities and see what organizations are near them. Most likely they can contact the local organizations through email or a phone call. Most of them are always needing volunteers for the various programs they offer or for big events. The lady code readers can also reach out to there state queen and see what events they have that they can attend too, most of us have a pretty busy schedule and we love when our community supports in anyway.

In your free time, what do you enjoy doing? In my free time, I love to spend time with my mom for dinner and a movie.

What is your go-to makeup look? Natural look. Less in more now these days. Being able to showcase a once natural beauty shows acceptance of yourself.

What is one thing you can’t live without? It would have to be my phone. That is my main connection for work, business and friends.

What is the hardest part about competing in pageants? That there is always so much preparation to get done and no matter how far you feel the pageant date is away it comes around the corner before your know it. Its always a rush.

What is the best part about competing in pageants? Having the opportunity to get to know your contestants and create a pageant sisterhood with them. I believe the competition is always with yourself and as long as you gave it your full effort and your satisfy with your work, then the pageant has been a success. The sisterhood that is created with some of these ladies can be a lifetime reward.

What is the best advice you have ever received? In persona, business and pageant to be your self. Do not try and represent someone who is not you. Decisiveness in any of this can be a much more costly in the end.
