Happy Motivational Thursday everyone!
I want to apologize for posting so late. On Monday I had the opportunity to work on a TV show and the day got away from me, and being a high school Senior, I have a lot of work to do including college applications and group projects. FUN! I have not forgotten about any of you which is why I am posting my “Motivational Monday” today.
For the past few weeks I have been trying to motivate readers to make healthy choices that help you with your daily lifestyle, but today I want to motivate everyone who reads this to put a stop to bullying.
Did you know that 1 in every 4 student will report being bullied per year and out of those student 14% will consider suicide? No child should have to go through something as horrible as bullying.
When I was younger, I was bullied for having a speech impediment. I would come home crying everyday because someone new had made fun of me. My mom and dad were my constant advocates, reminding me that I was better than those harmful words.
I started speech therapy and public speaking to end my impediment. If it wasn’t for my parents’ support than I would not have become the girl I am today. I would not have had started my community service project, Just Like Me 2, or entered pageants, or have the opportunity to work with the Lady Code.
Bullying affects everyone, the bully, the bullied and the bystander. If we don’t do anything to stop bullying we are not part of the solution, but the problem.
We all must be motivated to work together end this horrible epidemic.
Bullying has caused enough deaths, we cant lose anyone else to bullying.
I hope this motivated you to make a difference in one way or another to end bullying. And remember if you yourself are being bullied, talk to someone! I cannot express how grateful I am to my parents for listening to me and guiding me during my horrible time.
