Spring Cleaning: Detox Your BODY!

Now that it’s April, summer is right around the corner! After a chilly winter full of comfort food, hot chocolate, microwave meals, and holiday pounds that won’t go away, it’s time to start spring cleaning your body!

Here are five ways to cleanse your body and jump start your summer bikini body!

1. Teatox

Every time I check my instagram, I see something related to teatoxing! The truth is, you don’t need a special blend of tea to cleanse your body. Green Tea and Oolong Tea have incredible cleansing properties! I prefer Oolong Tea over Green Tea but I love both! Read about the weight loss benefits of Oolong Tea here.

2. Juicing

I am addicted to juicing! After juicing, I feel lighter, more energized, and I haven’t gotten sick in over 3 months!

Try this recipe:

-1 Apple

-1 Bunch of Organic Kale

-3 Carrots

-3 Sticks of Celery Hearts

3. H2o

Add lemon to your water to have an extra detox boost!

4. Stop Drinking Alcohol!

Alcohol is a diuretic, which can be dehydrating. And it’s a double diet no-no, since it brings both the extra calories and the lowering of mental focus to say no to higher-calorie foods.

5. Stop Eating Processed Foods

Don’t consume things that come in cans, boxes, bags or jars. Be extra healthy by cooking all of your meals at home and avoid using the microwave!

Bonus: Oil Pulling

I have been trying the new “oil pulling” thing for about two weeks, and I have noticed a whiter smile! I believe it is helping with other detox properties as well. I am using organic coconut oil from Trader Joe’s!

Here is an excerpt about oil pulling from Dr. Dalin:

It is believed that the oil absorbs toxins and bacteria in the mouth, preventing them from being absorbed into the body. The practice is best done daily in the morning when the mouth is said to have the most bacteria.
