Dear Lady Code readers,
Happy New Year and welcome to my first post as a contributor to Lady Code. In the coming weeks I will be posting on Saturdays about confidence, beauty and fashion so don’t forget to check out my blog posts then.
For my first post, I decided to share some of my New Year beauty DOs. Try them out yourselves!
Number 1 Chop it off
The saying goes, “If you want to fly, you have to let go of the things that weigh you down.” Celebrities and models like Karlie Kloss, Giuliana Rancic and Kylie Jenner have done it and they look absolutely fabulous. A shoulder length bob will keep you looking fresh and is easy to maintain. Try and angled bob if you are feeling adventurous.
Number 2 All about Contouring
Contouring is your friend my loves. If you want higher cheekbones or a sharper nose, learn how to contour. If you are in need of a bronzer, I highly recommend MAC. Not only is it lasting, it also comes in a variety of shades to match your skin tone. To enhance your features, do a quick sweep on your cheekbones, on either side of the bridge of your nose, your jaw line. Finish with a highlighter on your T-zone for an even better effect!
Number 3 The Nude Lip
I have always been a fan of the red lip (think Taylor Swift). But this year, I am going to give the nude lip a go. The nude lip is perfect with dramatic eye make up (complete with the smoky eye, cat-wing eye liner and lush lashes) and of course contouring. You’ll be surprised how those kissable lips will take center stage. For a better effect, use a lip plumper before applying your nude lipstick and a coat of clear lipgloss to finish.
Number 4 Chanel
Last but certainly not least, let me introduce you to Chanel’s 2013 limited edition nail polish Cosmic and Magic. For perfectly manicured nails, there is none other than Chanel. These two new shades are elegant and on trend. Blue is in for 2014 and with a little bit of “Magic,” you’ll be the hippest chicka in town. If glitter is your thing (Are you listening, Ke$ha?), “Cosmic” is perfect for you. Chanel’s nail polish is long-lasting, so you won’t have to worry about chipping. You know what they say, there is nothing worse than chipped nail polish.
Until next Saturday, Amour,
