Juicing Tips

Smoothies are so 2010! The new health trend of juicing is taking over! I am a huge fan of both smoothies and juicing, but I think I love juicing a little bit more! After juicing for about 3 days, you will feel more energized. After 2-3 weeks, you will notice that your skin looks healthier, more refreshed, and blemishes will clear up. Since juicing also helps you detox, I have noticed some weight loss as well.

However, there are do’s and dont’s for juicing. Read on to make sure you are juicing correctly and effectively!

To maximize your nutrient absorption, don’t mix fruits and vegetables. Apples are the exception to this rule. You can mix apple with any vegetable juice (it helps sweeten it).

If you are making a green juice (kale, spinach, etc), you can mix fruit with it!

It is best to juice on an empty stomach! Wait at least 2 hours after a meal to juice. I love having a green juice first thing in the morning!

CLEAN YOUR JUICER!! Clean your juicer within 30 minutes of making your juice. If you don’t have time to clean it, make sure you soak it in water so that it will be easier to clean later!

For maximum benefits, finish your juice within 15 minutes of making it.

Juice recipes:

My morning juice:

1 apple

1/4 bag of organic kale greens

4 stalks of celery

3 carrots

Sometimes I replace the kale greens with beet! Delicious!

My favorite fruit juice:

2 peaches

1 grapefruit

1/2 pinapple

piece of ginger root

Enjoy!
